Hi MMM,
Sent an email to your gmail address earlier, but in case you didn't get it yet - basically my contacts on the island say they have not had a drop of rain yet, nor much wind, nor are they expecting much. The storm is predicted to stay about 100 miles north of PR at this point. I had the same questions you did. My sister sent me a link about the tourist evacuations, and Monika (owner of the dive shop) just laughed. You know how the media blows these things out of proportion! As for the ferries, they are running today, and are expected to run tomorrow, as they believe the big island of PR will buffer the larger waves. So, at this point, we're expecting to be on the 3pm ferry. I am only concerned now that the mainland airlines could screw it up for us.
Good luck to you getting there. If you want to meet up, look for the "Grateful Dude". That's my husband, and he's hoping to play music at Heather's on Friday, and maybe elsewhere on the island later in the week. We'll be there till the following Saturday.

Happy Diving!
