Our favorites: Soldier Point when the wind is right, Culebrita and Luis Pena. Not as impressed with Carlos Rosario. We liked Melones, too.<<
Karolyn,
I wonder if you swam far enough out at Carlos. Once you get through the "cut", where the milk bottle buoy is, the best of the reef is still about 25 yards out and continues for a long way. The depth varies from 10 to 40 feet there, but the coral is as good and healthy as anything I've seen, including the Caymans. Also the variety and abundance of fish and other critters is terrific. I've seen green turtles, octopi, nurse sharks, and outstanding bioluminescent jellys out there, in addition to the more common species. Give it one more try.
