The hike to Carlos Rosario is a good one and popular, but it is not advisable to go by yourself. Another good one is to hike up from the road to Flamenco to the old navy helicopter pad. The "trail" is really the old vehicle road up there that has been pretty well washed away but the views are spectacular especially at sunset.

Another good hike is to Resaca, where at night they do the turtle watches. If you go before the middle of July, there should still be turtle watches going on. You have to hike down to the beach, about 20-30 minutes, and there is no access road. I would recommend getting someone to take you out there if you go during the day (which might be illegal, I'm not sure but it is protected land and there are turtle eggs hatching for about another 3-4 weeks), or do the nighttime turtle watch by contacting either US Fish & Wildlife or the Dept of Natural Resources.
