in my estimation it (the plane) is worth the money, but if the budget over-rides time spent, then I would try to spend a little more time on the island itself.
you could easily spend hours getting there, only to have to turn around and go back.
and what kind of fun is that?
take the ferry if you must, and camp or crash, but really, give it more than a few hours...either get there at the crack of dawn for a day trip or plan on an overnight.
