Day storage?

Hello All
We are taking a day trip to Culebra (tomorrow!) and are wondering if there's a good place for storage of important things (money, ID, cameras, etc) while we're at the beach, or is it safe to leave things on the beach while snorkeling/swimming? I think we're planning on renting bikes for traveling instead of a car (or if there's no good option, should we just do a car for the day)?
