You are correct about holidays and weekends. But you shouldn't have much problem if you leave on an earlier ferry on Friday. Your Tuesday return shouldn't be any problem at all.

Even a late Friday ferry isn't usually too bad if it's not a holiday period.

That being said, there are no sure things! (But I think you can relax.)
