You're not wrong about the mosquitos. They are out for our blood and yours too. But with repellent (under those lightweight clothes) and coils for camping, you should be fine.
You can bring long sleeved shirts and pants and still go light. I just went away for a month. One back pack, one small bag, two climates. Done (secret: stuff I bought, I mailed back to myself)
