I have seen a lot of negative back and forth about mosquitoes, food supply and restaurent service.
1) Take repellent and use it - you will not have a problem.
2) Grocery stores have everything needed and the quality is quite acceptable but if you need Thai eggplant for that special dish, bring it along.
3) The restaurents are great and the service is generally very adequate, if you need perfectly prompt attention, arrive 10 minutes before the rush. I'm a typically spoiled North American and had a great time figuring out how to stay spoiled. If someone gave poor service I didn't go back during their shift, I always arrived just that little bit early and had a back up plan for each meal. Remember " Open somedays - closed others".
I read all the stuff and wonder what is is like living life complaining about everything. Don't worry - be happy.
