Vieques Bio Bay

I'm going to be staying on Culebra for 4 nights. Is there any way to get over to Viques to experience the bio-bay from Culebra?

only real option is to fly over, probably via fajardo, and plan to stay overnight in Vieques since Bio bay is a late excursion. It is well, well worth the trip on a cloudy or moonless nite.

There must be ferries or water taxis to take people direct from Culebra to Vieques, no?

someone runs water taxi I saw in the paper- mentioedn trips to vieques. Not cheap for sure. May not run at night either. it may be worth looking into - I will see if I can find a name. the flight via fajardo was I beleive $90 per person.

I think Air Flamenco has flights for $25.00 Vieques to Culebra or visa-versa

If so, that is new. That would be good news; I've struggled with how to get there numerous years, sometimes there's a ferry , sometimes not. Direct flights some times, others not. Air via Fajardo has usually been an option, but not a cheap one.

I just booked a $20 one way flight on Air Flamenco from Vieques to Culebra. I think they're the only airline that covers that route.

The plane seats 8 only and luggage is restricted to 25 pounds per person. Total flight time one way is 15-20 minutes

I keep reading that there is a ferry from fajardo to vieques for $4 p/p. Here is the schedule:

PASSENGER FERRY

Fajardo - Vieques
- Monday - Friday 9:30am, and 1:00pm, and 4:30pm, and 8:00pm
- Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays (holidays) 9:00am, 3:00pm, and 6:00pm

I am planning to take a taxi from San Juan and catch this ferry to Vieques.

There is no transportation at night, either plane or boat.
If you want to experience the BIOBAY, you must stay in Vieques, unless you charter an expensive boat for that purpose.
I tried to start that business some years ago, but believe me if it were for that kind of business I'd still be fed with Campbells.

You can take the fast ferry, but it only runs from Thursday through Sunday. I was on Culebra last week. We took the fast ferry over on Friday morning, camped for one night at Sun Bay in Vieques after the biobay tour (which was amazing!) and then took the fast ferry back to San Juan the next day (it stops in Culebra again on the way back).
