Worst experience at Juanita Bananas
Culebra, Puerto Rico

I spent the week of March 10-17 in Culebra. It was my first trip, it was gorgeous, and I will go back. All of the shops, restaurants, vendors, merchants, et al. were truly wonderful except for the restaurant Juanita Bananas. The staff was rude, our bill was inaccurate, we had to wait two hours for our food (it wasn't that crowded and the staff were schmoozing in the kitchen), and the $45 bottle of wine I bought was a different, and younger, vintage. When I complained about that I was told "our menus our outdated." When I sincerely asked our waiter if I didn't have legitimate reasons for several complaints, he told me that I really didn't. That was a first. Management was no better. I have travelled extensively all over the world, and I cannot remember a worst restaurant experience.

Wow, if that is the worst restaurant experience you've ever had, being a world traveler, it sounds like you've gotten off easy! ;) I'm trying to remember the place I found a MOUSE in my wine bottle...a bit of wire brush in my muffin...the wait(s) for food so long that leaving was a fine option...none of these on Culebra, by the way.

Nah...I've just lived in the islands a long time (not all of it on Culebra, for sure)...and find other stuff to do when I'm waiting (like...walk in the kitchen and start chatting!)
Plus - if I'm seriously tired of waiting, I leave, "No big deal, but I am REALLY hungry and you all seem seriously busy, I'll try you another time! Bye!"
Not much is that important when you've seen the important stuff...sure as hell not a meal.
