Juanita Bananas question
Culebra, Puerto Rico

I called to make a reservation at Juanita Bananas in February since I have read so much about it. The night I preferred will be a Monday. The person taking the reservation told me that Mondays are "sushi night". That is fine with us- we love sushi- however, I neglected to get more information and do not find it on their website. Has anyone been there on Monday? Is sushi the only main course or is it served as appetizers? Any input? We are going to go, regardless- just curious. We will also be in Culebra on that Friday as well but not on a Saturday or Sunday so we do not have much choice. My husband wanted to make the reservation for Monday thinking that if it was wonderful we could try to return on Friday. Any feedback about Mondays versus other nights?

As far as I know,Mondays is all about Sushi she offers a great selection!!
I basicaly order 2 or three choices to share between two people, try the salmon crunch that's my favorite she also has a jibaro roll tha's very goood!!
She might offer a soup and definitely she does home made deserts.

I have not been there in a while for a regular dinner in a while however I believe her regular menu focuses on fresh seafood. It's pricey but worth it. iFor Culebra a very special and worth while treat!!!

In addition to sushi, they also have some cooked plates with the 'sushi' theme, and wonderful salads, great food, Monday is my favorite night to eat there! Have fun!

Thanks for the replies- I was just curious- we are definitely going and want to go again at the end of the week. It sounds great. We are adventurous travelers and can't wait to get to Culebra after all the wonderful things I have read. This board is very helpful- thanks to all of you regulars and locals for the advice.

the Daubons are an interesting family, some find them... distant? I've stayed there (Harbor View Villas, heard the gripes and still would again) I found it just right. I don't want people in my face. (although, if you have a chance, do talk to Druso)

I def. intend to eat there next time no matter where I stay.

and for the budget-wary from a few days ago there are plenty of options out there. but you should have a splurge night.
