Snakes and Garbage
Culebra, Puerto Rico

In one of the other threads the topics of snakes came up and then disappeared (like a snake in the grass). We saw two snakes (or one snake twice). Once near the garbage at the end of the trail to Carlos Rosario and once around the garbage where the trail turns to Tamarindo Grande (on the other side of Carlos Rosario). We assumed that the snake was eating rats and mice which were attracted by the garbage.

Which brings me to my question - who, if anyone, is responsible for cleaning up the garbage at the entrance to the two beaches? Note that I am not complaining about the garbate; at least it was all piled in one spot and not spread on the beach as I have seen it at other places.

Everyone keeps mentioning these "trails". Are these trails for those that are hiking over from say another place, or is this the trail leading from the parking lot to the beach??

I was referring to the trail which starts at the Flamenco beach parking lot and runs over the hill to the other side of the island. It is about a 20 minute walk from the parking lot.
