Hi, We are coming to Culebra on Feb. 21 via San Juan. I can't fiqure out how to arrange air transport to Culbra for 7 of us. ANy recommendations for an airline? Are there only private charters? Thanks for any help. I am so looking forward to our first visit there. Joyce

We are using Air Flamenco this trip, leaving from Isla Grande airport. I believe it's generally cheaper leaving from the smaller airport.

Try Isla Nena, Air Flemenco, or Air Vieques. Do it soon as I an arriving a week earlier and had minor issues getting flight times I wanted. Check to see if they are scheduled or "on demand", however with 7 seats sold I figure they would not cancel flight.

Loved Air Flamenco. Not always on time so give plenty of time for connections. Try airflamenco.com if you can't get them on the phone, they replies were prmpt and helpful. $95.00 per person rnd trip from Isla Grande Airport. plus 45 cents per pound over 25lbs luggage per person. They didn't weigh purses, laptops, backpacks etc. just suitcases.

On our last visit over New Years, we had five guys, so we contacted Air America to charter a plane from SJU to Culebra and back. Because it's nearly impossible to get from St. Louis to SJU before the last Culebra airline departures at 4:30 or 5:00, this saved us having to stay in San Juan that night. We found the convenience of being on our way to Culebra only 35 minutes after wheels-down at SJU worth the small premium we paid ($150 apiece, round trip). With 7 travelers, I believe you can charter the larger of thier planes for about the same, per person. You can contact Fred Rebarber - AirAmerica at 787 276 5669 for specifics. There are other charters as well, tho' I haven't used them.
