You can fish from any comfortable spot ashore, but the chances are less than achoring at a fishing spot.
There is a market place in frot of the "downtown" car rental, that sells squid. It is the best bait you can use for fishing.
There are some water taxis, who will be willing to take your family for a good time. Most of the time they take you, and come back for you at a settled time. I believe most of them are good guides, and willing to help you.
I know of a few places where you can fish groupers, yellowtails, stripes fish, and others. In the night time go to the ferry dock, find a nice place, and throw your line, looking for snappers, they are very good to eat, and , mosttly they bite during night time.

We went with a guide, Gayleen (on the recommendation of Chris Goldmark (I posted about him in the bone fishing section below). Gayleen charged $160 for the 2 of us on his boat from 8am to 3pm, but his deep sea fish finder wasn't working so ask if that's fixed. Or just call Chris, he's very nice and has lots of good info: GoldfishPR@aol.com
