Calmest water?
Culebra, Puerto Rico

We're getting really excited to travel to Culebra next week, but there seems to be an endless small craft advisory, warning of 5 - 8 foot seas.

Anybody on-island now who can tell us how the water's looking?

And on a lot of islands, when the waves are up on one beach (usually northern), you can often go to another to find calmer water. Is Culebra like that? If Flamenco's high, can we go to another beach and do some snorkeling?

We'll have a blast no matter what, but I really REALLY love to snorkel!

Hike over to Carlos Rosario. It's the best easily-accessible snorkling on the island and on the other side of the ridge from Flamenco so more protected.

Tamarindo can also be calmer. Melones, as well. Melones has some great snorkeling, particularly if you enter the water and go to the right. Swim several hundred meters to the right.
