Ferry How Early To Go
Culebra, Puerto Rico

Hi. We are coming to the island on the morning ferry from Fajardo on Saturday August 28th and leaving on the morning ferry on Tuesday August 31st. How early would you suggest going to the ferry each of these 2 days?

Thanks
Steve

The posted schedules in my experience have been accurate. For your Saturday departure a half hour early is adequate. If there is a holiday that weekend then one hour ahead would be better. People watching is fun anyway. On the return twenty minutes is plenty. It will be just locals that morning. There have been alot of posts of horror stories and the ferry but I think bad things happen to some people for a reason.

hey, steve

how early depends on what you plan to do. in "culebrense" talk, the "ferry" is the car carrying vessel. the passenger ferry is called the "lancha". if you plan to take your car and haven't made reservations, forget it. don't even try. if you just want to get over there and depend on the very available públicos or car rentals, sweet's reply is right on.

have a great time!

en paz

I want to go to Culebra a Saturdayin September.....and that would be either the 11th, 18th or 25th. How's the space on the evening Ferry from Fajardo to Isla Nena. I remember the Staurday morning ride being pasked like sardines from Fajardo to Culebra but this is the evening boat and it is September. Any feedback?
Tx,
Henry
