Cash or Credit Card??
Culebra, Puerto Rico

I think I'm overplaying the fact Culebra is a somewhat isolated place to get to but... is it better for me to carry cash or can i use a credit card to buy food/souvenirs/misc on this trip?? I just prefer to not carry cash so I'd rather use a credit card, will this be an issue?

Thanks!

You can use a credit card most places as long as the phone lines are working. The kiosks at Flamenco and some stores don't take plastic. The first time we were there we had a couple of occasions where we had to come back later if we wanted to use a card because the phones were out and so they couldn't get authorization on the card. I'd suggest a combination of credit cards and cash.

I would say that 85%+ of the places take a credit card. Be sure to ask first. It they don't then you can walk across the street to a place that does. The store by the airport is cash only but that's the only one I found.
