Expectations of March travel
Culebra, Puerto Rico

Hey Guys, we are kind of penciling in a last minute trip the first 2 weeks of March. The first time we went, we were there the last of January and love the quietness of camping at Flamenco. We are planning to camp on this trip as well. I searched the forums and could not fine much detail on March and what to expect.

My question is....Will spring breakers be over running the camp area?

We have a pretty good handle on everything else that we need to deal with.

TIA

Peace out
Herb

Hey Herb:
I think the main flush of spring breakers starts at the second week of March this year (that is coming from some major universities in the mainland US). I don't know how many would actually go through the trouble of partying at Flamenco Beach Campground--it is an effort!

I have not idea when Puerto Ricans have their spring break.

All this could vary from year to year.

I doubt it would be a huge problem, but one never knows. I remember President's Day weekend 2005 at the campground--hundreds & hundreds came to camp from PR mainland (totally unexpected). Last year, President's Day weekend was no different than others.

I hope we get the chance to meet--I'll be camping late Feb-early March...

Detlef
