I'm always so surprised whenever I read about Culebra in a major paper - don't want our secret to get out to too many people ;)

"One carry-on was a small cooler, packed with vacuum sealed meats, fish, cheeses, and spreads."

Why, I wonder?

Happy Diving!

Hola! Sounds like my type of bargain budget conscious vacation. Although, I save a lot more by staying at my Mom's and Father in law's house when on the mainland. I agree with you, Debbie, why the cooler with food? That's when you take advantage of trying new things and and mixing with the locals and shop for food where they shop. Let's hope she took the cooler back filled with Puertorrican treats. Happy travels! J

I believe the writer was packing those things in order to save some money on grub. But I'm with ya....why??? One of the best parts of traveling is rubbing elbows with the locals and taking in the local cuisine. Oh well to each his own

Laughing here...until I read the article I figured the cooler was full of lox and bleu cheese, and lamb for someone here jonesing. But apparently they were just trying to keep their costs down. Hey, people come here not sure if the American dollar is used, maybe they weren't sure what would be in the stores or if they LIKED iguana. I'd just like to know who they bought a 12 dollar lobster from...

(I think I'm saving my crits for the heavy hitters these days...)

Save What's Left!
