Coming to Culebra
Culebra, Puerto Rico

We are going to fly into San Juan in March and are staying in Patillas. We would like to go to Culebra for the day from Fajardo. Is it better to fly or take the ferry? Once we get dropped off in Culebra, is there a way to access some good snorkeling spots by foot? Which beaches would you recommend we snorkel at ? We have our own gear. We would also like to kayak out maybe a little ways off shore and snorkel. Thanks !

Brandi, it's worth taking the time to review some previous threads. All your questions are answered in depth in various threads.

But I'll quickly answer your questions.

Is it better to fly? Of course! It will save you nearly more than an hour each way. But it's more expensive.

For snorkeling, go to Flamenco and then walk over the hill to Carlos Rosario, which has the best snorkeling on the island.

Kayaks are not available at the best snorkeling spots, at least not that I'm aware of.
