San Juan to Culebra
Culebra, Puerto Rico

Hi I am trying to fly from San Juan to Culebra on Thursday March 13. I have been attempting to reach the airlines listed on this site but have had no avail. I was hoping somebody could tell me what airlines fly on Thursday and if they know the times that would be great.
Thanks
Chip

Chip,

Patience is a virtue - keep trying until you get someone. Island time, mon. . .

they fly every day weather permitting.

phones, that's a different question. the ticket counter person is the gate agent, baggage handler and sometimes is on the flight with you.

store it for re-dial and call during daylight hours.

You might also try calling the Isla Grande Airport directly and see if they can find a counter rep. They might be out back smoking (hopefully cigarettes).

Will you let us know if you ever get a hold of the airlines what the actual round-trip cost is? Thanks. I hear anywhere from 50-100 per person each way?

Todd,

Going rate is $50-60 per person one way, out of Isla Grande airport, not $100. I haven't flown Isla Nena lately, but I suppose it's possible that it now costs $100 each way if you're flying out of the main airport.

Thank you for all of your responses, does anyone know what airlines fly out of the main airport and which out of Isla Grande?

how is it some people remember names and I don't, and when reminded, memories (nothing major) come popping back?

I'm fairly sure that was Hector - the pilot who came and fetched me from the bakery once. never would have remembered that name w/o you. he is indeed cool.

If you use Isla Nena make sure you have a solid confirmation. When we called they said they would fly us to Culebra if they had a full plane. Hard to bank on that. It is easier for sure to fly out of Luis Munez airport..but Flamenco is the local airline out of Culebra. For 15 dollars you can taxi it over to Isla Grande and contribute to the local economy. If you reserve on Flamenco Air you will have a solid reservation.

It is definitely more expensive to go straight from SJU but if you are short on time it may be your only option.

Isla Nena was 96 + tax each way and 178+tax RT. A bit more spendy than I expected. Also, limited availability on flights. Nothing for SJ to culebra on March 5th, I'd have to wait until march 7th. I could probably swim there by then! Still can't get a hold of Air Flamenco, I'll keep trying.

Can people get rides over on the cargo ferry? Just wondering?

When I was planning to fly Isla Nena before I learned how infrequently they fly to Çulebra I noticed that they posted that there would also be a 5 to 10 dollar fuel charge.
We have taken the cargo ferry to and from Culebra in past years. Not usually a problem.

We had the same trouble trying to reach someone. But if you have a large group it may be easier to charter a flight, and in our case, cheaper. We contacted Capt. Oliver's Charters at 787-397-8608.
Good Luck
