Travel from San Juan to Fajardo
Culebra, Puerto Rico

We are planning a trip to Culebra in October, and will not arrive in PR until 7pm or so. We want to get to fajardo and stay there, somewhere...

ideas?

I hear you can take public transportation, but not that late at night... so how do we get to Fajardo on a sunday, that late at night?

I guess we could fly to fajardo, but i dont know if they fly that late either...?

Should we just stay in San Juan, and travel in the morning?

We'd like to travel on the ferry during the day to Culebra and stay there for 5 days or so, then return on Saturday to fly back from San Juan on Sunday, leaving mid day...

ideas?

Thanks in advance...

We used Travel with Padin to get from San Juan to Fajardo. They were great - our flight was hours late and they were there waiting for us. I would highly recommend them.

Travel with Padin:

We also stayed at the Fajardo Inn and liked the accommodations very much:

Here is another web site that gives you a few of the accommodation choices in Fajardo: http://escape.topuertorico.com/pr-bin/lodging.cgi?categ=Fajardo

Have fun!

I have seen Travel with Padin listed on a lot of sites. Its nice to know they are reliable. How much did it cost you to travel with them to Fajardo?
I also appreciate the link to the Fajardo Inn. I had seen it listed somewhere and liked what I saw, but had not seen that website yet.
The more i see, the more excited I get.

Thanks.

Another alternative is a Taxi. Since you are arriving at 7:00pm, by the time you hit the road it will be somewhat less crowded than it normally gets going from San Juan to Fajardo.

In terms of the accomodations, you can not beat the Fajardo Inn for the money. They added a new building and pool a couple of years ago, and the view is fantastic (but you will not be enjoying too much of it if staying for just one night).

They are very close to the Ferry terminal, and El Conquistador hotel (Wydham).

Enjoy,
Ahmed

They charged $50 for the trip and we added some for a tip. It was nice to have something prearranged with them so we didn't have to wonder if we'd find a ride and how much it would be.

Whatever you decide, relax and enjoy Culebra.

I have to agree with staying at the Fajardo Inn. Great place, and they may still have the restaurant/bar on the premises unless they got rid of it since we stayed there two years ago.

The last flights into the Culebra Airport are around 5:30 p.m., so you won't be able to fly in from San Juan later than that.

Get excited, you're in for a real treat when you visit Culebra!

Kim
