Are there bathrooms and showers at the flamenco beach campground (i've heard conflicting stories)? Are the sites right on the beach? Also, how much do publico rides cost from Dewey to the beach? Is it easy to get back at night if we want to go out for drinks? Is it possible to walk to town?
Thanks for your help, -- Aura

Hi, Aura. There are showers and toiletts in Flamenco Beach. The showers are not private; they are outside, so you will have to shower with a bathing suit on. They turn the water off sometimes, so if they are off make sure you consult with the ranger to get the time of re-activation. There are shacks spread out the camp site with regular toiletts in them. They also have cisterns around the site for you to use during your cleaning of dishes, utensils, etc. (large spheres). The publicos run all day from town to the beach, but at night you may have to call them to come and pick you up. The cost is about $3 one way. If you are in good shape, you can walk to town; but it is hilly and curvy and it will take you about 30-40 minutes to do it (even though is about 2 miles, its a hike). Enjoy Culebra!

John
