Thanks for Culebra... ;)
Culebra, Puerto Rico

Just wanted to wish everyone who reads this a Happy and safe Thanksgiving Holiday.

I am so thankful to have Culebra as a home away from home. We Puerto Ricans are blessed with the beauty of nature right in our own backyards. Let's cherish and care for our Islita ;)

Idea: If everyone could read this name at least one thing/aspect/event/etc they are thankful related to Culebra, that would be neat.

I will begin...

I am thankful for having bathed in Zoni Beach amongst gorgeous Angel fish in August 2004.

Also thankful for the yummy food in Juanita Bananas on our last trip there May 2006. You guys rock!

I am thankful for having eaten some of the best meatballs away from home in Culebra at one of the stands at Flamenco Beach (she has a green roof by the picnic tables). I also thankful for Flamenco Beach, and the sea for making my husband and I realize that all life's little problems truly are trivial and that we truly have found paradise which when we were had a moment, made us forget all of our worries.

I miss you Culebra, we'll back soon (07-07)

Can't name just one...

Thanks to Mary Ann and the fine folks at CORALations and to Teresa at FWS for their tireless work to keep Culebra from being ruined by thoughtless development.

Thanks to the Culebrenses who have welcomed me as if I were family for the 12 years I've been coming down, even though mi espaƱol es muy malo.

The fantastic pilots at VAL, Air Flamenco and Isla Nena who have delivered me safely to the Happy Landings in spite of some breath-taking landings!

Happy Thanksgiving, all!

Doug

I am thankful that we were fortunate enough to find this amazing island that MAKES us relax, have fun and appreciate all the beauty (of nature and people) around us. I am thankful for Zoni beach, because being there has always strengthened my marriage.

As with Doug, I can't do just one.

We're thankful for:

Sharon for helping us discover this paradise

our friends Walter and Monika for showing us the best diving in the waters around the island

all the fishies in the deep blue sea

and as much as they suck sometimes, careers that allow us to visit Culebra as often as we do (36 days and counting till we get to go again)

Happy Diving!
Debbie
