internet access?

is there anyplace public to go (such as a library) where a computer is available on the island? my son is arriving at the island today and will be there till new years. what events or activities are going on for the holidays that non-locals could attend? how is the weather REALLY this week- is it as lousy as the weather websites show? thnx
