Culebra in Mid-September?

Is it safe as far as weather goes to visit Culebra in mid-September. I have been told the week we will be visiting is the peak of Hurricane season. I will also be traveling with a baby. Has anyone else been there during mid-September or is anyone else going?

we will be in puerto rico 09/14-10/03, staying in culebra 09/15- 09/19. this september will mark our 10th consecutive setember puerto rican vacation. we have had wonderful weather every time except once. we arrived the day after a major tropical hit, in september of "04". hurricane season starts 06/01 and ends 11/01. traveling in september is a good time to visit if look at odds of bad weather..... 1 year of BAD weather out of 10 in my opinion is worth the hurricane risk. plus it is one of the least expensive times to stay as september and october are the slowest months of puerto rico's low season and if you look there are many bargains to be found. feel free to contact me directly to you'd like more details on visiting puerto rico in september

September is the peak of the hurricane season, watch the weather channels, and make your conclusions.
These days statistics are put into doubt, however, August & September are the most difficult months, they are extremely hot too.
