My husband and I just returned from Culebra; had a wonderful time. We stayed at Villa Boheme; it was very clean and nice- would definitely stay there again.(we had room #11, but our friends stayed in one of the cheaper rooms and it was nice too). We did not rent a vehicle, but found that taxis were usually available but not as frequent during the week to go to Flamenco. We walked the trail to Carlos Rosario to snorkel and it was awesome!! We saw lots of fish and coral. The trail splits at the bottom and there was good snorkeling on both sides; more shallow and more surf on the left side. We also walked to Melones from town along the beach from the ferry dock. It was a fairly long walk but not hard. We saw an octupus at Melones just right out from the first buoy!! Got a good picture but I will have to get my "tech savy" sis to show me how to attach it to e-mail! One thing we found to be a real plus- we had dive vests and it was so nice- it just took the effort out of floating around and looking. From our experience and limited roaming around town, the only consistently open restaurants were the Dinghy Dock and Mamacitas. Pan deli was usually open too and good. Hope this helps; this forum really helped us plan our trip.
