Places to Stay
Culebra, Puerto Rico
Author: Andres (65.210.149.---)

I've looked all over this website and countless others looking for the best place to stay & there's about 100 places that are all about the same!
I'm in the $50-$150 per night range, will only be staying for 3 nights, and I'm looking for something in town or within walking distance of town.
Any recommendations???

Thanks.
Andres

I just got back from culebra on Sunday. We stayed at Villa Boheme for a little under $100/night. I highly recommend it. There is a great deck to hang out on at night and it's very quiet and clean. Also you can either get a room with a kitchen –for a little more– or use the community kitchen that has everything you need, which we did. There is also a grill on the patio that you can use. And the owner will rent you a kayak if you want.

It's about a 30 second walk to town and the grocery store, and there is a shop next door that rents bikes and snorkel equipment. There is also a bar next door that has a good happy hour.

There is another place, Villa Fulladoza, a little further down the street that we almost stayed at. It looked like it had almost the same set-up as Villa Boheme –we walked by to have a look– and seemed to cost a little less but I can't say what the inside was like.

Hope this helps,
Have fun,
CC

Near the beach the only place between your budget will be camping. Is an incredible experience. I have been there a couple of times and is great.

Make sure you read about Harbour View Villas from me entitled "Don't Plan a Stay at Harbour View Villas" and avoid it at all costs.

We've stayed at Villa Fuladoza. That or Villa Boheme are excellent in town choices.

Hi,
My wife and two other couples will be staying at the Villa Fulladoza from 11/8 - 11/15. when will you be there? If it's later in Nov. we will be happy to give you a trip report. My wife and I were on Culebra @ 1 1/2 years ago for 10 days in April. We LOVE it! Great snorkling, deserted beaches, lots o rum, and good cheap food if you know where to go.

I will be staying at Casa Ensenada next month and everything I've heard about it has been great. Every time I've called they have been extremely helpful and their prices are good.

Has anyone stayed at the Culebra Beach Villas at Flamenco Beach? I"m thinking about staying in a studio there...I like that it's right on the beach. Anyone with direct experience? Also, what about Tamarindo Estates? SOunds pretty exotic, but pricey at $160/night (although that includes a car).

Thanks,
Jennie

Hi! I am familiar with both Tamarindo and Culebra Beach Villas- I prefer CBV because it is right on Flamenco Beach. Tamarindo is on a rocky beach but has fabulous snorkling and a pool. Depends on what is important for you. The studios at CBV are perfect for 2 people but the best rooms are either 2-A or 2-B in the main building.

I just came from Culebra last week and stayed at Casa Ensenada. This is a great place with an excellent view. The owners, Jackie and Butch, are great hosts. We rented the "Pequeno" which is more than enough for 2 people. It comes equipped with everything you need for your stay. They also have a BBQ, tables, chairs etc.. outside for everyone to use.

We also rented a boat from them and we had a blast. We are definitely staying here when we go back. Our favorite place to eat was the Dinghy Dock.

We like Posada Hamaca, right in town, with a canal-side patio for relaxing in the sun. It's an easy walk to restaurants, shopping, the ferry dock, beaches and the bus to Flamenco. Rates are under $100.

What equipment do they supply?
Thank You,
