Ferry from San Juan

We are coming to Culebra on May 22nd. We will arrive in San Juan at about 11 AM. I read something about a high speed ferry out of San Juan. Can anyone tell me about that?

If you have a few people - it might be cheaper to take a 'publico' - taxi/van - to Farjardo for $65.00 (and split the cost) and then take the Farjardo-Culebra ferry for $2.00 per person. The San Juan ferry is a lot more expensive. Depends on how much time you have.

Thanks for all the information. We want to leave directly from San Juan, as we have a short trip planned and want to spend some of the arrival afternoon, if possible, on Culebra.

The hi speed ferry leaves at 8:00 AM. You would have to spend a night in San Juan to take it.

The most direct and most expensive way is to fly from International Airport on Air Flamenco or Isla Nena. Cheaper flights are from Isla Grande on Vieques Air Link or Air Flamenco.

You should call all the above to get the best availability and flight times.

Does the Ferry operate only on Thur-Sun? It says some Monday holidays, but I can't get a hold of anyone. I am looking to leave from Old San Juan on May 29th, which is a Monday, but its a holiday, I think....? Maybe. maybe not. I am unsure.

Does anyone know a better way to get a hold of these people?
