We just returned from a very enjoyable trip to Culebra.
We stayed at Tamarindo Estates. Although Tamarindo is not fancy, the location and views are beautiful. We found the accommodations to be very clean and comfortable. The competent staff was friendly and helpful with advice and directions. They were much appreciated.
If you go to Culebra for the beaches you will not be diappointed one bit. I have been to quite a few remote tropical beaches over time and Flamenco and Zoni rank right up there with the best.
Food on the island was a little weak but we didn't go there for a culinary experience. Forget about your low carb diet going to Culebra. The pastries near the airport bakery will satisfy any cake lover. The beer is cold and plentiful but wine was in short supply. Pack your Merlot. One surprise was the Pizza made from a cart at Flamenco; Edward's New York Pizza. Believe it or not I give this pizza a solid A or rate an 8 (10 being the best).
Reccomend ferry over and plane back just for the experience.
All in all it was a fun time on a very friendly island.
