Look at the "Place to Stay" thread fr more details and hyperbole - My boyfriend and I were in Culebra in July and LOVED staying in the Tres Amigas casita available through vacation planners.
We cooked all of our food in the small but adequate kitchen - it's fully stocked with soap, paper towels, and Tom's of Maine hand lotion.
The rate was, off-season, $90 per night - but you could take that little bit of extra that you have and buy some really good rum to drink out on your beautiful balcony in the evening - or a bottle of champagne.
