Hola.
I'll be in Culebra the 6th - 9th of July (Sunday to Wednesday) & had a couple of questions I was hoping someone could assist me with:
1. Would you recommend renting a jeep or a boat to get to the various beaches?
2. How easy is it to get to St Thomas? Can you take a rented boat?
3. How safe is it to snorkel with just one other person in the various reefs?
I'll start with just three questions, but I'm sure more will come up as my trip gets closer.
Thanks & looking forward to visiting.

Andres

1: Rent a Jeep from Jerry across from the airport. He'll hook you up with one of his famous maps.

3: You should be fine snorkeling from shore with one other person. Stay within sight of each other, use your common sense, etc, etc...

Punta Soldado, Carlos Rosario, and Flamenco (past the shark pen) are my favorite snorkeling beaches.

Maybe someone else can help with #2

re 2. don't attempt to go to St. Thomas in a rented boat! if you wish to go you'll have to charter a boat; don't forget, there is customs to be cleared etc.!

taking your boat to all the little islands around Culebra you'll have plenty of excitement!

have fun!

Shark Pen?! What do you mean by Shark Pen?

Thanks to you both for your help with my questions.

Next round of questions:

1. When traveling around the island by jeep, how safe & feasible is the parking for the more remote areas?

2. Can you just rent fishing equipment & fish off of any beach on the island? Any recommended hot spots?

3. Is there an opportunity to see bioluminescence?

4. Is there horseback riding anywhere on the island?

Thanks again for all you help.

Andres
