Joel, a good and detailed report nonetheless. My husband and I honeymooned there in May 2002 and we found a few more couples who had found Culebra (as we did) by watching the "The Best Beaches" on The Travel Channel on cable tv.
If you plan to visit Culebra again, ask the locals about a restaurant named "Tina's". We loved it. It's situated in the middle of a residential neighborhood. You might have to ask neighbors where it is since at the time when we went, there were no signs. It's just like walking in someone's house. It's a hole in the wall (as some would call it in a bigger city) place ran by a lady named Tina---as we heard from some--"Aunt Jemima.
