The trail to Resaca beach is now CLOSED due to the threat of fire. It is on private land but I called the owner and he agrees that the need is there.

Trails on Culebrita are now CLOSED due to the threat of fire. Visitors can easily access beaches and enjoy those sites. Please contact local water taxi operators for transportation.

Zoni Beach and Larga Beach are CLOSED for barbeques, campfires, tents, etc. You can enjoy the beaches during the day.

For further information or questions please contact me. 787-556-6682 or 787-742-0115. Federal firefighters will be in Culebra to enforce laws for as long as is necessary.

Teresa,

Are all the fires out that were flaring last week?
It is really amazing how things change. Last year, I had never seen the island greener, and now the pendulum has obviously swung. How much rain has fallen, of late?

We get fires every year and I`m pretty sure that the 90% of them were caused by the same people every year. Some people know (including the police) who they are but because of lack of evidence or witnesses they still at large. I think somebody should do something about it before somebody gets hurt. I remember few years ago somebody die from a heart attack while inside of a home surounded by a fire. What the police is doing about it?
