Sure hope that I spelled this right! Just wondering the best way to see the bioluminescent bay in Vieques one evening while we are staying in Culebra? ~~Wendy

In order to do that you will have to stay in Vieques, It is at night that the bioluminicenst bay is seen. and there are not any transportation means back to Culebra at that time. Unless you hire an experienced captain with a boat to get you back.
It is your first time ?

Good luck...

There will be no moon, however, we can't stay overnight in Vieques. How much -an estimate is great- would a private captain cost? How long is the boat trip? thank so much. ~~Wendy

Wendy,
We just went to the bio bay three months ago in Vieques. It was one of the greatest things i have ever witnessed. We met the tour at 6:00 and got back after 9:00. I have not heard of anyone taking people back and forth on a private boat but there is a dock just across the street from where the tour left at Esperanza. I would stay the night though if possible (go to the Inn at Blue Horizon...its close but only if you dont mind spending some cash....it was very nice.

A private captain will charge you not less than 90.00 per day.
Since the whole trip is at least 4 hours, I will still charge full rate.
However, I do not have a boat.
You may check with Casa del Mar at El Conquistador, they may take 40 persons groups, so the rate per person may be splited, the trip in this case is longer, so... maybe the charge will still be considerable.
You may check Puerto del Rey, there are a few boat charters.
If you find the boat, you may contact me.
