Hi all.
I'm a 22 yr old female needing a break from the NYC rat race. Culebra seems like the perfect place, especially since I'm NOT into the big hotels and crowded touristy scene. I've done some backpacking in Europe and Africa and find travelling alone can be really great since fellow travellers really reach out to you.
I only have five days. I'm wondering where I could stay where I'll have easy access to a not-so-crowded beach where I can get some peace, but can still find a nice social scene (preferably one that involves fruity drinks and a laid back atmosphere :) ). Hoping for something not too pricey that's still clean and comfortable.
My plans are for March 11-16. I'm a little concerned that might be prime time for Spring Breakers, and while I had fun on similar spring breaks in college, I'm not really into that kind of party. Hoping for twenty-somethings who can really kick back...fumbling around on drums and guitars, talking about adventures barefoot, sipping a beer kind of kicking back.
Any suggestions? I don't have tons of research time at the moment which is why I'm reaching out. (Also wondering whether flying to San Juan then taking the flight to Culebra is easiest...can I fly into Aguadillas and do something similar? Safe-ish to travel alone?)
A big thanks to anyone who can help.
Lisa
