You don`t need a passport to travel from continental U.S. to Puerto Rico. P.R. is an U.S. territory, with your state drivers license will be enough. Also you can travel from P.R. to the U.S. virgin island without a U.S. passport as long as you call or stop by the nearest U.S. Customs office for clearence you will have no problem at all. Remeber all puertoricans are U.S. citizens and traveling to P.R. would be the same than traveling from one state to an other, the only difference is that is no road. If you have any question go to www.cbp.gov and get the San Juan Customs office phone no. and verify before you travel to P.R. Good Luck!
