First Culebra Visit
Culebra, Puerto Rico

Hello fellow travellers!

I have been fortunate to travel to some very nice countries and so when I heard about Culebra and how it is a part of Puerto Rico, I was a little hesitant to book the trip. Further research is beginning to show that this island supposedly offers amazing beaches for some fun in the sun. I heard about Flamenco area's mosquito problem and so now, I am wondering if I should revise the itinerary and head a little farther east. If there's a kind heart out there who can enlighten me, I would really appreciate it. My trip isn't scheduled until September so I have some time to do more research.
Thanking you in advance for your help! Cheers!

My family and I were in Culebra last December and we did not experinece any mosquitoes while we were at Flamenco Beach. If I were you, I would still go to Culebra beacuse you are going to be able to experince some of the best beaches in the world. I can't wait 'til I go back!!!

Go, go, go. The mosquito's are mostly dead by now. Again , it rained a lot two weeks ago so the bugs came out. After spraying they went away. As for Flamenco, it was the least mosquito beach on the island

¿Mosquito problem? Anywhere you go in the tropics you will find mosquitoes. That shouldn't deter you from visiting one of the nicest places in the world. Some seasons are better than others but just buy some repellent and enjoy. I am going there the second week of June. I will be camping at Flamenco beach with a group of Venturing, BSA youth.
