HOTEL PUERTO RICO ISN`T THE BEST IN THE ISLAND IT IS CHEAP, THERE ARE SOME OTHERS CHOISES THAT I WUOLD RATHER STAY. FOR SCOOTERS RENTALS THERE IS ONE AT THE CULEBRA AIRPORT TERMINAL THAT I COULD RECOMEND (CULEBRA SCOOTER RENTAL) AT 787-742-0195 OR 787-367-0219

Hotel Puerto Rico prices vary, from 50.00 to 75.00, it all depends on A/C, private bath, two or one bed...
I have stayed there for may years, and will keep going, since I know the owners, but for two or three nights you may consider other alternatives.
It is located, at your left in a corner about 300 meters after you leave the ferry. Their telephone is 787 742 3372, ask for Felo.

I was appalled at the condition of our room at Hotel Puerto Rico. Unfortunately, it was a holiday weekend and we had no reservations and Hotel PR was the only place with rooms available on the whole island (go figure). There were mouse droppings on the bathroom sink. The door to our room had clearly been broken into more than once and didn't look very secure to begin with. I'm a budget traveler, but this place is not worth it. In fact, at $70 for the room we got, I'd say it was way overpriced!

Wow that does sound pretty bad.

Jose, did you have the same experience or do you just pay way less, since you know them? - and therefore are more lenient?

Hello, I am the grandson of the owner of Hotel Puerto Rico. I live here in Texas, but I go visit about once every two years. Yes, you heard correct the hotel isn't a five star Embassy Suits or anything but its a nice inexpensive place to stay. It is located in town so you can just walk to the pizza joint or walk to the gift shops. Hopefully, I helped and please feel free to contact me if you haven't already taken the trip. Soon I will have a web site up for the hotel.

Sincerely,
Omar
