Moving to Culebra-figuring out neighbors

Hi,

After a couple trips to PR, Vieques and Culebra, we decided that Culebra is the place that we love the most. I love the people and the land. I have been searching and reading this forum (it has been very helpful) since our first trip a couple years ago but first time poster. Anyhow I am trying to figure out who is our potential new neighbors. They have this giant farm type setting on PR 250 on the road to Brava beach. We were told that it is a citrus fruit farm but the last trip there we saw an Arecibo Observatory trailor in the heavily fenced with barb wire on the property. Does anyone have any idea if that is a fruit farm or what exactly? I feel like this is the only mystery to be solved before we move, I just hope it's not Area 51 :) Thanks! Candelaria

Hello,

Congrats! We too were looking at the beautiful property at one point. I believe you are correct, and what we have been told also is that your neighbor is a citrus/fruit farmer. You may have better luck getting better information with some of the locals on the hill near you.
Good luck and enjoy!

Stay warm!

what does th place look like on google earth? If it's indeed a citrus farm, one should see at least trees .. whether they are actually farmed is another story altogether.

Enjoy Culebra!

Michael

If you're talking about past the museum off 250, just before the dead end to Brava, that's Victor Gonzalez's "farm". He also owns the house at the top of the mountain above Flamenco and who got a legal injunction to block the beach path to the old Mullecito. He's not a favorite here by any means but thankfully he keeps to himself.
