Fishing question??
Culebra, Puerto Rico

My husband just went fishing. He casted 12 times and hooked into and caught a 28 inch bonefish. He said it gave an amazing fight. (Wish I would have been with him with a camera!) Our question-is this a normal size for a bonefish caught in Culebra?
Thanks!!

Sharon, it would depend on how you measured the fish. Fork length or overall. Overall at 28" is an average Culebra Bone fish in the 5 T0 7 lb range. yes we have Big Bones! Fork length (snout to base of the tail) would make your fish 10 lbs and up. We catch them here that big and even bigger but not like years ago. Right now we average only one or two double digit fish a season at best. Congratulations and remember to keep the fish in the water as much as possible during the release process, Chris Goldmark

Is a fishing license required to fish from the beach?

I am jealous. I was able to get a hook in but not able to land my chance at a bonefish.

Can't wait till next year though. Captain Chris.....save me a day next year. =)
