Pre-Purchase Ferry
Culebra, Puerto Rico

Has anyone purchased tickets from here for the Ferry to Culebra? I've purchased them because of the horror stories i read of people waiting hours and not getting a ticket.

How does it work once you get to Fajardo?

How busy should I expect it to be on a Tuesday in March?

There are 2 lines in Fajardo. One to buy tickets and the other to pick up pre-purcvhased tickets. Since the max amount of tickets to be pruchased in advance is 50, that line is MUCH shorter and you can arrive 30-45 min before departure as opposed to 3 hrs before departure ..

You most likely can get the ticket with the code, but having the picture or a printout is better.

Enjoy Culebra!

PS: the exact location of the 'reservations' line can be found in culebraferry.com's terms and conditions

Enjoy Culebra!

I'm sorry, maybe this has already been asked. If I pre-purchase my outgoing ferry tickets online. Can I buy my return ticket at the "reservation window" when I check in or will I be required to get in another line for that?

You can purchase a ticket in Culebra at the ticket window. When i did this last week they sold out within 30-40 people so i would recommend getting there 2 hours early to make sure you get a ticket. Assuming you are looking at the 5 pm ferry back to Fajardo. However you may be able to purchase a ticket back as soon as you get off the ferry in the morning for the evening but i am not positive about this.

With all this being said even if you "miss' the 5pm ferry to Fajardo there is a 7pm cargo ferry that you can catch and isnt nearly as busy. The downside is it's slower and wont get back to Fajardo till around 9pn.
