Good morning,
Currently of the 12 or so boats in the system only 2-3 are working, thus the boat that they are using for Culebra at the moment is a cargo vessel.

Having said that, it is generally in violation of most rental agreements to take the car on the ferry (ins. not covered). Also, priority is given to commercial vehicles & residents, thus it is NOT recommended.

Finally, no one will answer at the terminal. They rarely do.

Best,
Terrie

So if we are a family of 5 hoping to get on the 3 pm ferry to Culebra, what are the chances that we'll get on?

If the ferry is running (which was only a problem once when we were there due to weather) you should have minimal problems. That having been said, the weekends could be an issue as they are busier, but we only used the ferry during the middle of the week. Also, if you can't make the 3PM, there is always the 7PM.

Peace out
Herb

Good evening,
It's likely that you'll get on..it just depends what time the boat decides to go.

Also, the 7pm isn't always running, as sometimes the 3pm is a combo of the 3pm passenger & 4 or 5 pm cargo (since they are only running one boat) & the 7pm passenger.

Best,
Terrie
