How long does it take to get to St. Thomas from Culebra by boat? Will a chartered boat take you there if you rent one for the day/half day, etc.?

I had Willy (publico driver) take a group of 4 of us from Culebra to St Thomas a long time ago by boat. He had a nice boat and it was a nice ride. It's ~15 miles so it didn't take too long; maybe an hour depending on the seas. He dropped us off downtown and we cabbed it to the other side where the beaches and resorts are for the day. Then back in town the shopping is duty free. Booze is cheap. Then he took us back. You will need a passport and need to clear customs back on Culebra. That office may close at 5:00pm so you would need to be back before then. But check with your captain for all of the details.

Also, some of the airlines will charter you over, VAL, Flamenco Air, Culebra Air.

It was about 10 years ago but I just ran into Willy last week and he asked me if I wanted to go to St Thomas again by boat because he got a new big boat. I didn't ask him how much because I couldn't make it over there. And I do not recall the amount but my guess would be ~$700

mamacit's website says Captain Luis will take you over for $150 pp w/ a max of 6 people. However, not sure how updated this info is...but still gives you an idea.

Good afternoon,
I'd be surprised if someone would take folks to STT for $150 as that would likely not even cover gas in one direction.

Best,

And it's kind of a pain now because you have to be back to Culebra by around 16:00 hrs to be able to check in through customs and immigration. Have to have a passport. And can only bring back 6 bottles of liquor pp.
