I will second Micheal on getting the double. We took 3 kayaks from Zoni to Culebrita, 2 doubles and a single. My wife and daughter were in the double, my nephew and another child in the other double. I had the single. Both my wife and daughter became tired, so I tied on to them and was able to pull them back to Zoni. If they had a triple, I would have rented it!

Watch the surf and wind reports. It can make all the difference in your experience. If the surf is high, you should consider moving your kayaking to the leeward side of the island. If the water is too choppy on the Culebrita side, then kayak to Luis Pena. Don't try to force your way through rough water. Trust me, it is a great deal more difficult, a great deal, to plow your way through rough seas. Some get seasick, so prepare.

Pack food and drink in dry bags and strap to the kayak. We took frozen, 2 liter soda bottles, filled with water the night before. Refreshing in the hot sun!

You can leave from the dock or have a drop off. Let the wind/wave conditions help you with your choice. We used a Jeep and I tied the kayaks to the roof myself. Protect the roof with towels and rinse any sand from the kayaks before mounting.

We paid $50/day for each kayak.
