Still haven't found a reasonably priced way to get there on the 22nd. My flight arrives at SJU at 4:05 pm and need people to share flights or some other ideas or may have go somewhere else.

Flemenco Air runs about $100 round trip from Isla Grande Airport. If that doesn't work you can always take the ferry.

Why don't you take the 7pm ferry? You have plenty of time.

Happy Diving!

Vieques Air Link is booking flights now for $115 roundtrip. I gotta check what Flamenco Air is charging, might be less.

Right now Flamenco Air seems to be only chartering the whole plane for $600 to $800. So go with VAL.

You can have John's Publico or Henry meet you at the airport and take you to wherever you need to go. They charge by the trip, and I think last spring it was $70 plus tip. The contact information for John and Henry is on this site under "transport" "Getting There" "Getting to Fajardo". We've used John twice and he has been great both times. It may not be the cheapest way, but you know you will have someone waiting for you. They can also stop along the way for food, supplies, etc.

Renting a car is also an option. I have found the best deals with Enterprise, but others recommend Avis. You can pick up the car in San Juan and drop it off in Fajardo. The rental car company will take you to the ferry docks if you make arrangements ahead of time. However, with a 4:05 p.m. flight you'll want to be sure the rental car company's hours will accomodate your schedule if you decide to go this route.

We have not tried just getting a taxi to Fajardo, although we have used taxis to get around San Juan and have found them to be readily available. Perhaps others can speak to the wisdom of waiting until you arrive and hailing a cab to Fajardo.

I recently made a quick trip down and did not prearrange a publico. I hailed a cab at the airport and the fare was $80 to Fajardo ferry dock. Friday afternoon plane arrival around 1pm and it took me just 1 hour to get to Fajardo.

There is a "cab booth" as soon as you depart the SJU airport on the sidewalk. You go there and tell them where you want to go; Fajardo, little airport, etc. They write the destination and fare charge on the paper and give it to you and there is a line of taxis waiting. You give the driver the ticket and off you go. $80 one way to Fajardo, $15 one way to little airport. If you go the ferry route, as soon as you get to the ferry dock have one of your party wait in the ticket line to get tickets. That line can be very slow at times but they always seem to get everyone on. Be sure to ask a few folks who work there which ferry is going to Culebra vs Vieques. It can be difficult to understand the loud speaker when boarding starts.
