Yes that is the way I took it also, don't go because there
will be a food shortage etc. Who wants that! (plus the potential
of escalation to "anarchy" which was mentioned on the
link she provided) She did day she was posting this early,
so we could make other plans I guess. I'm not planning to
go now anyway.

She has since offered an apology, stating that she was only
referring to food and electricity shortages. But apparently feels that
is no concern for the traveler. So why did she post it in the first
place ? To inform the locals? I called a local rental agent that I use
and they said everything is fine and the post was "inappropriate"
and "unecessary" I think I agree.

It would have been fine without that link to the local press.
I checked the Puerto Rican press, and as best as I can figure,
there is an Island wide strike, and it should not be violent. There
is a threat to shut down ports, but others are saying they will
be kept open.

And it is also only going to last a day or two, so if
you are already there, I would take Geronimo's advice sit back and
relax, the strike is in Puerto Rico not Culebra.
