Does UPS/FedEx deliver to the post office
Culebra, Puerto Rico

Does UPS/FedEx deliver to the post office on the island? I have a house on the island and am pretty sure that if I send something down by UPS or FedEx, it will be delivered and held at the post office.

Thanks

Good afternoon,
USP usually delivers to the house (but it is helpful to let the UPS man here know you are expecting a package). Fedex usually comes via VAL & it also helps to let them know that you are expecting a package as you usually have to pick it up at the airport.

Why not just send your package via USPS priority (or even express) if you need something quickly? It's usually much less expensive & faster, too (sometimes packages don't make the planes for FEDEX/UPS & thus experience delays).

I've dealt with folks who wanted to ship (companies) FEDEX/UPS & convinced them to ship USPS in this case after explaining the circumstances.

Good luck.

I seriously doubt the postal service accepts deliveries for FedEx or UPS. I believe they only deal with united states postage items. I could also be wrong.

Terrie,

Thanks for the info. Two things. I won't be there when the package arrives so it can't be delivered to the house. Second, it is alcohol and illegal to send through USPS. Although they don't really have to know. I just need to pack it well. We have had boxes shipped USPS many times and held at the post office till we got there. I just wanted to see if UPS would ship to the post office because its not really a PO Box it is going to. I guess I could send it UPS and have it delivered to our cleaning ladies home. So the UPS man knows the island well and would know what house to deliver to without street names or numbers?

Good morning,
I did get from your post that you wouldn't be at the house.

I do know of someone who did send alcohol through USPS & it did break...of course they were "busted"...

I don't know how the PO would feel about getting a UPS delivery-lol??

The UPS man works/owns La Pista. He knows the island, however, not everyone, which is why it is a good idea to let him know you are expecting a package in case he doesn't know you/your house (or whereever you are sending the pkg.).

Plenty of alcohol at Milka/El Eden, too!

Good luck,
Terrie

I have sent non-USPS packages that require a street address to the Excetera store. They will hold them until you arrive. They have charged me a few bucks or so to retreive my packages from them. You can call them and confirm that they still perform said service, 787.742.0844. They are located at 126 Escudero St, Culebra, PR 00775.

PS: It is illegal to ship alcohol greater than 40 proof via air because of the danger of it being so flamable hence, endangering everyone on the plane. So pls keep that safety point in mind.

Enjoy!

I just heard that the Excetera store no longer provides the service of receiving mailed packages. I hear that La Pista on Rt.251 is the new UPS dropoff. Not sure what their phone number is.
