Running/Walking?
Culebra, Puerto Rico

Hi, I'm coming to Culebra in July, and I'm an avid runner, cyclist (triathlete). Could I just walk everywhere on the island that I need to? I often run 6-8 miles at a time, so I would think so, but just checking...

Beth

PS--I'd also like to thank everyone on here--this has been invaluable--I can't say enough about all the information I've received about EVERYTHING on here.

The island is 7 miles by 5 miles, so it's well within your range. But I doubt that you'll be going from one extreme end of the island to the other. Probably most all of your activity will be within a 2-mile radius.

It will be HOT in July. Not sure if you are accustomed to running in 85 degrees with the sun beating on you. Bring lots of water and good luck. Besides you can always flag a cabby down.

The nice thing here is there is usually someone who will ask if you'd like a ride if you get to sweatori extremiosa. There is a couple here this week who have walked a lot, telling me stories as they go. So as the other poster said, lots of water (and a hat and sweat proof sunblock) and you should be good to go. Just end up at a beach and jump in before heading back!
