Vieques biobay from Culebra
Culebra, Puerto Rico

I am just wondering what the most efficient and cost effective way is to get 2 adults and 2 kids camping on Culebra to see the biobay on Vieques at night? Given the various ferry times it seems like a huge amount of time going between Farajado and the two islands would be expended. Are there any other, not expensive, options we could consider? Thanks for your help!

La Pela bay is a pretty darn good bio bay. I have seen fish in the water leaving trails, swam in there, making magic with arms and paddles etc. The approach from the water at night is a little tricky, because you can get stuck in the reefs, if you do not know where to enter. Ideally you take a GPS and plot your entrance during the day, bring a picknick and then leave via the route you came at night (now on your GPS)

Enjoy Culebra!

I suspect that the biobay in Fajardo would be easier to get to than the one on Vieques. You would only need to take a ferry to Fajardo and back but you would still need to overnight in Fajardo.

depending on what you consider expensive,
call VAL and ask about a flight. I think its like $75 r/t going through fajardo.

flamenco air might make a direct trip for 4 passengers.
